Angelia Joiner the reporter from the Empire Tribune brought the stephenville ufo story to the world - she was seen on CNN, MSNBC, and practically all over the media. Now the newspaper that gained worldwide attention thanks to her efforts has decided to fire her because they don’t want her talking about ufos again.:

As you may know, the biggest news on the Texas sightings was made public by a courageous writer for the Empire Tribune newspaper, the only paper in the small community of Stephenville. Angelia Joiner’s articles were picked up by the major news outlets, and brought her newspaper record-breaking figures for the month of January. Angela did not just hit and run, she stayed with the story, doggedly sought out witnesses, and reported her eagerly awaited follow-ups on a regular basis.
As she gained more and more information from the eyewitness, she discovered something: some of the witnesses were being intimidated and threatened to keep their information to themselves. This was an extremely important find, and she told it like it was. Her information has filled the Net with blogs and comments on this “men-in-black” scenario.
The newspapers kept rolling off the presses, but something was wrong. She had gone too far. I was talking to her about a week ago about another matter, and she dropped a bombshell on me. She was leaving the paper on February 14. I didn’t even have to ask why. When her reports on witness harassment and intimidation went public, there were some people in high places that were very upset. To make a long story short, she didn’t even make it to the 14th. She was gone on in a matter of days, her computer confiscated. She was told her stories were an embarrassment to the paper.
It seems strange that they didn’t say a thing about “being embarrassed” when the advertisements were rolling in, and the presses were running overtime. I want to refer you to an article that will give you the full story on her dismissal. The information was gathered and presented by my good friend Michael, who is a serious, level-headed student of Ufology.

The initial investigation in Stephenville, Texas, has been completed by MUFON, although sighting reports continue to be made by residents in and around the area. None of these recent reports rival the spectacular, initial reports of January 8, of a mile long craft followed by military jets, however. These reports were made by several individuals. It will be some time before we hear anything of an “official” nature, and that will be when MUFON makes their findings known, with some of these results being made public in the month of March.
In the meanwhile, there is still news coming from the area, and in some ways, big news. It seems that some of the witnesses are claiming that they have been harassed by government officials, or someone who has an interest in keeping the sighting reports low key, or just making them disappear completely. The main player is witness Ricky Sorrells, who claims that he has been harassed by jets flying over his property, strange phone calls late at night, and even strangers lurking around his house at all hours.
